A city in Boone County, Columbia covers a total area of 138.1 km² (53.3 mi²).
Columbia experiences cold winters and hot and humid summers. Temperatures reach below zero for only a few days in winter. In between some cold days, temperatures even rise to 60s during the winter months. March receives substantial amount of snowfall. In summers, temperatures even rise to 100 degrees F. At the same tome the humidity level also rises. Columbia receives an annual rainfall of 39.43 inches and snowfall of 20.7 inches.
